The Samsung Galaxy S series is no longer powered by the company’s own Exynos chipsets. Instead, all regions where the Galaxy S23 series are available, get the Snapdragon variant with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 under the hood. However, the Exynos program is far from being dead.
After skipping a refresh for this generation, Samsung is reportedly working with Google to develop a more powerful chipset, set to launch at a later date. While the development is still in its early stages, a new leak gives us a glimpse of the specifications, indicating what to expect from the Exynos 2300, considering that’s what it will be called.

Exynos 2300 Specs Leaked
According to a tipster who allegedly has access to the kernel information of the chipset under development, the Exynos 2300 is codenamed Quadra. The chipset features a 1+4+4 core configuration, one higher than the present octa-core chipsets that power most smartphones today.
This indicates that the Exynos 2300 will have four performance cores, four efficiency, and a prime core, which is likely the ARM Cortex-X3 Super Core. According to the kernel information leaked, the ARM Cortex X3 Super COre will have a max clock speed of 3.09GHz.
The other cores include the ARM Cortex A715 clocked at 2.65GHz and ARM Cortex A510 clocked at 2.1GHz.
The tipster also revealed the Exynos 2300 will continue with the collaboration with AMD and will feature the AMD RDNA 2 architecture for graphics. The GPU onboard the chipset is called the Samsung Xclipse 930.
The Korean tech giant is also reportedly working on an Exynos 2500 SoC, which may come after the Exynos 2300 (or Exynos 2400, considering it skipped a generation) is launched. The Exynos 2500 may come with a powerful Neural Processing Unit. This will reportedly help Samsung enable exclusive AI-based features for its Galaxy smartphones, much like how Google leverages the custom Tensor chips to deliver personalized features that are not present in any other smartphone.
